A Time to Give Thanks!

The last couple of days we have spent, eating, playing guitar, watching football, playing games, and just hanging out.

Everyone got here on Wednesday, and it was so good to see family. I don't think Jess or I realized how much we missed everyone until they got here.

Wednesday night we all spent eating pizza and catching up. Of coarse the guitar was pulled out and Birley reconnected with everyone, well except for Pat :)

Thanksgiving day we had a delicious dinner here at the hospital. It was the first time that most of us had tried deep fried turkey. It was SO good! I think we all agreed that the food was delicious, but the best part was the fact that we didn't have to cook or clean up. Talk about the ideal Thanksgiving dinner!

Last night we had a great time together. We all just hung out in Jess' room, playing guitar, games and were entertained by Briley. She sure has liked having every here, and she by last night she really started to take to Pat :)

Today Jess went back to rehab. In ot this morning he worked on his balance as he sat on the mat and played wii with another patient from Montana.

While Grammy Candy watched Briley, all us girls (and Pat) went shopping for a good couple hours. It was so nice to get out of the hospital setting and have a little break from miss Briley Anna.

We came back and everyone was able to watch Jess in PT. They focused on his left arm today. His shoulder socket has gotten really stiff, so he was given a lot of different stretches to work on.

We rented out a Kitchen/Living Room at the apartment complex that I'm staying out. We decided that instead of making a traditional turkey dinner, we would have lasagna.

Unfortunately, Jess needed his TLSO brace shaved down and the time they were able to do it was right before dinner was ready. So we just packed up everything and moved it all over to Jess' room.

It sure was nice that he got his brace shaved down. It had been giving him bruises on his stomach, so he was ready for it to be adjusted.

These last couple of days have been such a great break from our routine. And it has been so nice to have all of Jess' family here for Thanksgiving.
Briley loves to go on rides in the wheelchairs. So all the Alberi girls went and raced the halls :)

Yahoo Alberi gang! Glad you all had such a nice holiday together as a family. All those perfect smiles...you really are a good looking family! Anyway, enough buttering up...keep up the hard work in OT/PT Jess. I know you're getting antsy in your pantsy there, but you'll be back here in no time. Hugs and kisses, Nissa

Hey Jess, Em and Bri (gee, I love these shortened names!!!)

Blessings on you. Great to read the blog - have been doing so every other day or so. Alway a source of information and inspiration. We continue praying for you. GOD is GOOD!!!

Glad you were able to spend time with family - that's a huge part of holiday. Saw Denny in Walmart on Thanksgiving morn - doing some late shopping for the holiday meal just like Alison and I were doing.

Aaron, and his cousin Kyler, were able to come down from Fairbanks for the long weekend - so the house has been a little more crowded than it had been. And that's good. It's nice to have the added energy around.

Well, gotta go. Three hour choir practice (for next weekend's concert) begins in less than 30 minutes - and I have to go to Walmart to buy more Christmas tree lights for our house.

Blessings upon you. We love all you guys.

It sounds as if you had an awesome Thanksgiving reunion...so much to be thankful for for us all!

Dee gave me several Jess photo buttons - one is hanging on the door at the Morse's that goes from the hallway into the garage...so as we all come and go, we see the button and get encouraged and are reminded to pray.

Sorry I haven't phoned yet...I had a "duh" moment with Dee on Wednesday morning - asked her for the number to call, and she pointed out it's on the blog page...DUH JOAN...
So, now I have the number, and just have to sit down while it's still awake time in Colorado.
Love, Until He Comes,
Joan

Greetings and a blessed Thanksgiving! We were all sitting around the dinner table giving thanks for the fact that you, Jess, are still with us and for all of the awesome reports on how well you are continually doing!! We remembered that it was just a year ago that we were giving thanks for Dad having made it through his near fatal car accident and two years ago that Willie had survived his very critical flying episode!! WOW If we just take these moments to reflect,, God's handiwork is all around us. He is the one who sees us through. Praise His Name.

It's is so great to see all of your family together. That's what helps the healing process, the support of family and friends. We all love the blog and feel like we are getting to know so many more friends all around the USA.

Got the tree up with the lights on tonight and will hope to set all of the ornaments on this week. Started some shopping and found the perfect Christmas card for this particular year. Can't wait to send it out. You will agree when you see it. This week is the Community Christmas Concert, and I think we will go on Friday. Hope to video tape it to send to you!!

Have a good week and we will be praying for you as you launch out into some more advanced therapy.
Remember that Jesus is the strength of our lives and He will give you the strength you need for each new day. Love Mom, Dad and Jesse

Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and I'm so excited with all the great news on Jess' progress. We spent the holiday with Chad & Kyla in Fernley, Nevada. Had a wonderful weekend. 11 hours of driving...yikes!!
We went into Reno and saw a Terry Fater show --- the singing ventriloquist! He is fantastic and so, so funny. Have a great week and keep working hard!! We look forward to seeing you in December. Christmas at home will be so great for all of you.
