We had a wonderful weekend with the whole Alberi family. It was really uneventful, but in a good way. It was so great to be able to be with family for the holidays. And its even better to think about being HOME and with family for Christmas. We still can't believe how fast it is coming.
It's going to be here before we know it. Every week seems to go by faster than the last.
This week Jess' schedule is really full. In addition to OT and PT he has added fit class (weight class), pool therapy, educational class, re-entry class (learning about going home), and wheelchair skills class.
Needless to say, after today he was feeling pretty sore and a little tired. He really loved the fit class and is looking forward to being able to work out at the YMCA. We feel really blessed that Dillon has the YMCA, as well as a lift for the pool.
This weekend, we really saw a lot of progress. Jess is really starting to do a lot of his transfers nearly unassisted or completely by himself. What a change!!! It's so encouraging to see the progress.
Briley has been great. She is getting SO CLOSE to walking. She just doesn't have the confidence yet. One of her favorite things to do is walk the halls. She walks back and forth and back and forth, but goes to her knees as soon as I let go of her hand. I can't wait for her to start walking, but at the same time I know that once she starts she'll never stop. I'll be chasing her all over the place.
It's just such a fun age. We are so blessed to have her!!!

Hi Emily & Jess,
...Tonight's update reflects SO MUCH progress - for Briley too :)!!
Your notes tonight answered several areas I'd wondered about and prayed about over the holiday. Great to hear about the transfer progress and ICP...may that continue to go well.
The showering and other ADLs WILL get easier/faster. Some of what you are experiencing is the day to day "reality sandwich" of having to do things differently. I'll pray that the Mountain Top experiences far outweigh the visits to The Valley.
To have a lift for the pool in Dillon will be a huge benefit. I know how awesome it is and will be to be able to continue the pool - and it will be a blast to share that with Briley...
Our Father has it all under control, HUGS and prayers from Eagle River.

Hi Jess, Em and Briley,
WOW!! Just look at all the progress you are making!! Jess, whatever you go after, you go at it hard. Keep up the good work! We are all cheering for you! Hey and that pool in Dillion will be a REAL blessing!
Just want to let you know that I am working two nights at Starbucks and then will be off Wed-Friday so will call and talk then. A BIG "Hi" from Stephanie Jeffers to you, Emily. She will be going on to represent Alaska at the Miss America pageant coming up later! She invited me to her trunk show in January. Amber and Erica Forema's mom also says to tell you that they are praying for you all.
Little Miss Briley Anna will be off like a shot in no time flat here pretty soon. Can't wait to see her! (I'm missing some Grandma time!) How does she like her new "furry" book?
Jess I sent a package out in the mail for you and Emily to both read and enjoy. It will be a great faith builder. Talk to you Wednesday, pm.
Love Mom, Dad and Jesse

Jess, Emily & Briley:
It was good seeing you all together. I'm sure these kind of holidays mean more than they ever did. Briley is such a ham, she knows that she has her dad's great smile. You may have to send her to reentry classes, she's going to miss those wheelchair races. We love reading about your wonderful progress Jess and we look forward to seeing you home in Dillon.

Hi Jess and Emily..I just couldn't resist sending you a note tonight and telling you what a special picture that is of Miss Briley and her Grandma Candy. What 2 lucky people to have each other!! I can tell by the joy in Candy's face how much she loves seeing you be parents to her special granddaughter. So enjoy your pictures and news of how everything is going, Emily. It's cold tonight and is trying to snow. Winter in Montana is coming fast. My Best....Anna Belle
Hey Emily and Jess,
Wow, Jess you sure have gotten stronger! I bet it is great to have more mobility now. It's amazing how fast you have progressed from one week to the next. Keep up the hard work! We are praying for you all!
Love, Holly
Jess,
Great to hear about the progress buddy! I was thinking about you last night when I was playing cards and broke out some card tricks you taught me. Hopefully you are still doing them and may have a couple new ones up your sleeve! Keep up with the hard work!

Hey Guys, Kate here. Sounds like you guys had a great thanksgiving week. Hanging out with the family, that's what it's all about. We got our first real snow here, it's really starting to feel like winter. Cold, cold, cold! We are headed out to Vegas in the morning, it should be a blast. We will see if I can keep up with the Hansens!! Can't wait to see you guys and hang out soon. Miss you.
dear jess, emily & briley
wonderful to able to see a tiny part of your heroic lives on your blog. em - i think you have a future in the "cloud"!
thanksgiving was wonderful here in dillon too, though definitely short of alberis since you all slid down to colorado. we had 10 in my little kitchen - big for 1, maybe even big for 4 or 5, REALLY small for 10! my great nephew (nephew once removed?), steph and john's hank, is about the same as briley - 1 just before the feast day - and kept us all on our toes. it was grand to be together though we certainly missed our jess.
cant wait to see you back in dillon. sounds like you may be here for the new year?
jess - i found my mobility again in our y pools after my big pelvic fractures so have tremendous optimism about the therapeutic gains to be achieved there. i look forward to joining you in our home waters.

Hi Jess,
It was great to see you at Sweetwater last week! You look great and I can see you get around really well!
Here's the address for my niece Charlotte's page. You will have to sigh in, but I think you might enjoy yet another great story.
